Amy of Melbourne… obviously
Throughout my entire life, I've been passionate about crafting. Whenever I came across a new creative technique, I eagerly embraced it and sought to master it.
Crafting runs in my family, and I was brought up with a Do-It-Yourself ethos. From a young age, I was surrounded by the hum of sewing machines, the scent of freshly cut wood, and the sight of my parents and grandparents turning raw materials into beautiful, functional items. Weekends were often spent in the shed, where I learned the value of hard work and patience. Each project was a new adventure—whether it was building a scooter, knitting a scarf, or embroidering a doily.
As I grew older, this passion for crafting became more than just a hobby; it was a way of life. I found immense joy in transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary pieces. It wasn't just about the finished product, but the journey of creation itself—the trial and error, the moments of inspiration, and the satisfaction of seeing an idea come to life.
This DIY spirit has also taught me to appreciate the beauty in imperfections. Handcrafted items have character and soul that mass-produced goods often lack. Each stitch, strand, and loop tells a story, a testament to the dedication and love put into every piece.
The thrill of exploring new ways to create things has always captivated me, and I find pure joy in the process of crafting something from scratch.
My passion in life has been to teach and I am driven by the desire to give people the tools they need to learn how to make all the things. Whether it's crafting intricate embroidery, building my own crafting tools, or mastering the art of spinning,
I find immense joy in sharing knowledge and watching others grow. Each lesson is a unique journey, filled with curiosity, creativity, and the thrill of discovery. I believe that education is a powerful catalyst for change, empowering individuals to unlock their potential and pursue their dreams. By fostering a supportive and inspiring learning environment, I aim to ignite a lifelong love of creating.
The craft kits, inclusive patterns, and variety of craft tools in my collection are all crafted with the learner's experience as the central focus. Every item is intended to nurture your creativity and help you flourish as a supported and valued maker.
Together, we can build a community where knowledge flows freely, and everyone has the opportunity to create, learn, and thrive.
