Sock Knitting - Ravelry Roulette
Hello Lovlies! This week I played a game of Ravelry Roulette over on my YouTube Channel and found 5 possible patterns to take with me on the plane to Europe. These were found completely at random and a winner will be chosen by YOU by voting on the community tab over on my channel.
Below are the 5 candidates for you to pick from.
One Fish, Two Fish
In honor of everyone’s favorite children’s author, Dr. Seuss, I designed these socks with a tessellating fish pattern. Both adult and child sizes are included, and you can further tweak the sizing by going up or down in needle size. These socks feature the Sweet Tomato Heel, allowing the colorwork design to continue, uninterrupted through the instep. And because they are stranded, these socks have double thickness for extra warmth. But since the yarn used is fingering-weight, the socks are not too bulky to be worn in shoes. Also, I have included the option for a secret pocket that is just big enough to hold a key, some cash or other small valuables. Fold the top cuff down to cover the pocket opening for added security.
The Catvent Catsock
The Catvent Catsock is here to eat your yarn scraps!
It’s a scrap-friendly colourwork-striped sock, with a short row heel and round toe.
The colourwork is incredibly just-one-more-row-ish.
The pattern includes both 4ply and DK-weight socks.
Each sock comes in five sizes, with lots of guidance for adjusting the length.
There are day-by-day advent knitting instructions as well as knit-right-through instructions.
Yellow Brick Road
by Star Athena
Follow the yellow brick road in these hand-knit socks inspired by the winding path Dorothy and friends take to reach the Emerald City. A swirling stone motif starts on the top of the foot and spirals around the leg. Wear these when you take the first step on your next journey, to help you find your way.
This pattern is now available for free! If money is tight, this is for you. I intend to keep this pattern free forever.
If you want to/can put some money somewhere, I have a suggestion: The Autism Self Advocacy Network (ASAN). Click the link to learn more!

Field of Seeds
Field of Seeds is the first pattern of The Seeds Collection. These socks were created to celebrate the beginning of a new spring. In a field just emerging from winter, tender little seeds timidly appear, quietly receiving the soft spring light.
The socks are knit in the round, from the cuff down, with a reinforced heel flap-gusset construction. A combination of simple stranded colorwork and slipped stitches adorn the leg with cute little seeds on a field of stockinette stitch, and a striped pattern nicely highlights the foot and the rounded toe.
