The Aphrodite is a reversible under-bust style of bodice in a corset (stays, waspie, bodies) style, designed to layer over your clothing. Aphrodite has 2 views; View A is a reversible bodice, while View B gives the option to add an open front skirt.

The Aphrodite has a centre front closure and adjustable shoulder straps which tie together.

This garment is a fashion statement and is not intended to be worn for support, however, the maker can add boning to create a historic silhouette.

Use something structured for at least one layer - duck drill or canvas work very well.

You can use something softer for the reverse layer - quilting cotton, linen or cotton sateen. Alternatively interline/interface softer fabrics with canvas to give them the structure needed

  • Medium to heavy woven interfacing. 1.5 meters for single layer or 3 meters for double layer

  • Boning (plastic, balene, zip ties, cordage or spiral are all applicable options)

  • 3m/3.2 Yards of 2.5cm (1") Twill Tape for boning channels (optional)

  • Metal Eyelets (6mm suggested) or Perle Embroidery Thread

  • Ribbon or tape to tie (3 meters/3.2 Yards min)

  • For Zip closure option: 1x coat zip 15cm long
